NSW106 – HMAS Allenwood – Birdie Beach

The HMAS Allenwood was a minesweeper during the WW2. At the end of the war it became a trade vessel running up and down the East Coast. On the 14th September, 1956 during foggy weather it ran aground. The remains can only now be seen after heavy storms and high seas wash the sand away.
